Member for Kimberley Josie Farrer is encouraging the Kimberley community to contribute to her submission to the Parliamentary inquiry into the Patient Assisted Transport Scheme (PATS).
Ms Farrer said the inquiry, announced in February, would give those who have utilised the scheme an opportunity to provide feedback and suggestions on how it could be improved.
PATS subsidises travel costs for eligible country residents who are required to travel long distances to receive medical treatment.
"PATS has assisted many sick people in the Kimberley but the time has come to consider whether it can be improved," Ms Farrer said.
"I will be making a submission to the inquiry and encourage residents to do the same. I hope to receive significant community feedback on the scheme before making my submission and encourage Kimberley residents to contact my office to share their experiences.
"This consultation will help formulate my submission to the inquiry.
"Submissions to the inquiry close on 16 May 2014. I encourage residents to contact my office on 9192 3111 or email email@example.com as soon as possible."
